Hi guys,
i have been lucky enough to know about this project for quite sometime. Andy M is an old school, passionate and the most pedantic skater i know and a mate.
He has spent countless hours and researched and developed one of the most beautiful old school skateboards that i have ever seen and all from Australia.

I spoke to Braden and thought it would be appropriate to post this with other old school and passionate skaters whom may be interested in these boards....so here we go.....

Bennett "BIG SURFI"
Handmade Vintage Skateboards 50 of 50

These vintage styled hand shaped skateboards have been completely handmade and assembled at The Bennett Surfboard Factory at 180 Harbord Road, Brookvale, The prototype board was developed on the original surfboard factory site of 188 Harbord Rd Brookvale, as were the first original Golden Breed, 2nd issue - Golden Breed , Lightning Bolt & Fibreflex skateboards which were also developed in the sixties & seventies at the Bennett Surfboards Factory

The authentic Vintage Skateboard components for the BIG SURFI are all from the 60s & 70's, which have been sourced from original Bennett stock and the USA.

The only new part will be the deck itself.

DECK

A high quality 9 layer, 1.8cm thick & 908 cm long board, in dead flat vintage surfboard shaped Fijian White Cedar.

The screen printing on the decks has also be done by me, in the Bennett Surfboard factory

The hardware components for the BIG SURFI are:

TRUCKS

The truck bases used are NOS stock as used on the 1960's - steel wheeled TITAN & SATURN Rocket skateboards

by Fairfax Co.of Sterling Illinois.

Each NOS 1960's truck base has been hand stamped for the 2 different metal finishes.

BC = Bennett Chrome or BI = Bennett Industrial

Each NOS 1960's truck base has had its steel wheels removed & updated and mated to original Golden Breed Skakeboard hardware

Even the ball bearings are from 1972!

WHEELS

Metaflex NOS Urethane wheels

MODEL NAME :- Dragster (47mm high & 45mm wide),
Colours Black, Red, Green.

MODEL NAME :- Easy Rider & Hi Speed (55mm high & 32mm wide)

Colours Black, Red, Green & Super Dark Green

Most decks will be fitted with narrow wheels

A smaller number of decks will be fitted with wheel combo's know as "DRAG PACKS" Wide rear wheels & narrow fronts

RISERS

Soild hand cut 12mm Cork block

Finally to give the boards a really vintage look, a reproduction of the first Bennett Surfboard waterslide decal and a Blam-o decal

will be placed on every hand stamped - numbered deck

Two radically different designs will be available, a total of 100 Skateboards, of which only 50 will be released in the first batch, in time for Christmas. Each Skateboard will be stamped with its unique number, out of 50.

$395.00 each
