Hi All, I’d like to say thank you to all the people that appear in these photographs as they give me much joy, excitement, and gratification. If I didn’t have you to photograph I wouldn’t be able to make these pictures. I am sorry for not including everyone I’d photographed but as I’m a slave to time I was unable to finish this body of work entirely. I will go back to my Bondi Bowl A Rama 2009 folder over the next years and dig up some nice ones, so look out if you’re in them. That’s only if I don’t have trouble with my hard drives shitting themselves. Every one of these photographs has been treated individually, some take a few minutes, some take 12 hours or more, and some I redo as I fuck them up through the process of neurosis. For all you newbee photog's out there this shit is not like just taking a photo, connecting your camera to your computer and pushing enter. Each photograph has its own personality, every one of them had its own time in front of me, some may look similar but I treat each one to be its own moment in time. In time relevance each photograph in the Bondi body of work and the New Zealand Bowl A Rama 2009 body of work represents one day of my life over the past 12 months. I hope to post the New Zealand photographs in the next week. I am so very happy to finish this body of work for now and I’m stoked that everyone can enjoy these visual flavours. In the past I have received various emails through my web site and other sites like this one for costings of prints and wall art, and thankyou for those… I have found all these enquires to be “bullshit” as when I say it will cost ‘X’ amount people just go away after I have spent the time replying back to them. For future reference if anybody asks me for a print I do not supply them for free. If I didn’t take and spend the time making the photograph, it would not exist. My terms on this condition are that I would sell a photograph, unframed, for $120 including GST and postage and handling within Australia (for those of you overseas, it will cost you additional postage and handling.) You will receive an unwatermarked, numbered, signed and a letter of authenticity for the print. Each print will be printed by Pix Photo Media http://www.pixonlocation.com.au/ in Bondi on fine art archival paper (this shit is of the finest quality and will not start to fade in 100 years unless you leave it in the backyard under the elements.) For this price I will only supply an 11x14 size print, no smaller (as it will cost me the same time to make.) Any bigger will be negotiable to how much you want to spend (POA) as printing is not cheap. I will not cut costs to compromise the integrity of my work as it will not have the richness and clarity through the tones. Genuine inquires only for print sales, as I do not have time for stupid questions or ifs, buts, maybes. Thanks again everybody, enjoy these photographs on the net. Bring on Bowl A Rama 2010!

Ha - $120 a print ! I'm just going to wait and save up the $240 for the hard back cooffee table book issue ! An amazing photo collection that will go down in history as the best coverage of an Australian skateboard contest ever I'm sure. I agree with all the above. I spent almost an hour transfixed by these in the middle of the day when I should of been working! Kinda just lost myself in the whole buzz and the vibe and the people and the action you've captured. At home now and I'm looking again....... Incredible work Dean. |
