Jealous of all your recent discoveries I did some recon today and dug up a couple of pissweak haunt contenders.

First up the former premises of KFC in Melbourne Rd. I saw this one getting heavily sessioned the other day (note the grinds on the rail).

I had a quick skate and spent some time perfecting my reverse switch nollie revert. Some local kid tried to tell me I was doing a 180 with a tail scrape. Far out man, I can't keep up with all this new terminology so I left to do some backhand turns on the curvy walls at Newport.

Next is the recently excavated super bowl. A bit like Belco without the rollin. It's a 70s pool skaters dream with only one inch of transistion (obscured in the pic) and 21 feet of vert.

This old classic has many old school characteristics like the exposed brickwork and the Mexican hat in the middle. The is even a fun box that gets in the way of the best carve lines. WAAAAY ahead of it's time this old gem. Unfortunately it's a bust and requires a lot of cleanup.

hambo, that rail has been sessioned by aussie and over seas crew for about five years now, not a bad rail if you are into that.

what you are looking at here is a pavement crack, which I like to call 'the Crack of Love'.

the locals like the crack to pop ollies over, and others take the risk and danger in riding through it. but the rough terrain can slow you down on this one, so take caution and dont lock up!

I've been keeping one of my favourite pissweak haunts a secret but I can't live with the guilt anymore. This is a specialised haunt and I have a setup that is dedicated entirely to riding this spot. Due to the tight nature of the space I use a short wheelbase deck with a very short nose.

This haunt is an easy place to grind. Due to the shifting of the soil and concrete you can get a grind simply by riding down the middle. Rad!! It was necessary to create small transitions with an angle grinder due to the tripping hazards presented to non skaters but now theres great little jumps to get air off and slash grind. Note the presence of both concrete and wooden ledges. The widening gaps between the slabs provide ample opportunity for stalling tricks such as the "headfirst dive into the roses".

My local halfpipe...small granted ....but the feeling of landing multiple kachunks on my banana board is highly recommended.

That's revolutionary. You could do a frontside AND backside boardslide simultaneously.

pissweak haunt: The Emoticon Skatepark

pissweak:

1.its two dimensional
2.you have to be an emoticon to skate it
3.being limited to two dimensions the skatepark itself does not even exist
in a realm affected by space or time as we know it. all of your empirical
sensory knowledge rendered redundant before even dropping in.
4.its soooooo 'toy story' - the way they only skate it when were not online.
5.its shit
