Yeah piss weak haunts is a good description of a fairly nostalgic haunt for some Novecastrians.I am talking about Islington captule bowl. people have a bit of a soft spot for it as it was better than nothing at the time. With a bit of refurbishment it could pass for a reasonable skate spot.
This 80's dinosaur is is in desprate need of some sort of make over.A bit of cut and shut and remodeling could make it a real fun place to skate. As the crete gets older along with the poor quality transitions it becomes less desirable to ride
It is darn right dangerous and not worth the effort for the small amount of fun you can get from its rough surface and primative construction.
Probably should be talking to council about the chances of having it looked at.

it's[izo] much nicer there without all the whores ,used syringes/condoms/turds , junky pimpy/pimply blokes and over-interested pocket fiddling crinkly old chaps [now i get cruised by bored mums with prams].
i strangely think it looks heaps smaller and less steep without the graff?
the gnarly kink-wobbly-bits-ruffidge-ness kind of makes it 'delightfully fruity vibrant'!,maybe it's just everything is too weirdly smooth and well shaped by comparison now?[it is a bit of exercise to keep blazing speed up tho!]
take plenty of wax!

It used to be a rough area what thre prostitutes flogging their wares so to speak.
One of my mates was walking home from tech one night and found a dead junkie in the bottom of the bowl needle still in the arm
The park has been cleaned up and new play equiptment and BBQ facilities have been constructed.
This makes the atmosphere some what more pleasent and I don't Mind taking my grand kids there to play.
I remember when I took my kids there in the 90 s I would have to take my kids to the service stations toilet as the one that was in the park was a hang out for faggots and pedophile types.
We have a new mayor and council now so we will have to suss them out as far as their attitudes to skate Parks.

yeah dude!i went there the day they were cleaning up the dead bloke but totally missed the junkies pulling rosco on some crap teenagers and stealing their bikes.
a friend is still traumatised by what he saw lurking up on him in the toilet block whilst trying to have an 'honest slash'.

there was a 43 yr old old fruit there one day with some kind of home made zephyr thing showing how to do a supposedly safe , super - enthusiastic diving-roll into the bottom from the side!!

whilst it is blessed with a nice grassy shady setting with a pub across the road, Forrest Skate Park still falls solidly into the pissweak category. With a 12 inch wide spine not even the local Penny riders could fit in a 50-50.

I call this one the Kiewa snake run. Drop in to the deep. Hit a bumpy but mellow water fall and finish in the shallow.

Transitions are best described as very rocky!
Choice of wheel is 73cm. Air adjustable durometer black ops formula and you can Forget the deck, trucks, and bearings!

12 in the deep, 6 in the shallow....inches not feet!
Old school pool coping and lumpy reverse roll in. Water fall has rough and challenging finish.
Another Greenwhich bay beauty to round out a session at the pissweak boat ramp!
