Hey Jimmy

They have been done by a young designer who helps viv and ash with simply skateboardings artwork. Great way for him to get some of his work out there.

The decks are great and the graphics don't ware quickly

Hey Drew,

Have we met before?

I was saying below to Jimmy they have been done by a young Melbourne artist who has some great work. And Simply Skateboarding are a great company who are here to help kids get into skateboarding.

Michael Sieben has some great stuff but go easy mate, we should be supporting young artists and skaters no bagging them.

I hope to roll with you soon!

Sky

Not sure if we have met. Sorry if i came across as negative. I guess ripoff sounds harsh. I didn't mean to be overly nasty. It just looks like Michael Sieben's art has been blatently copied here. If it's just a similar style or some kind of tribute to him then I'll happily go back into my box, maybe apologise and wish you all the best. It seems you were'nt aware of the similarities. I'd be keen to hear your artists take on this.

by the way, forgot to tell you that investment process

Hey Sky, Drew, Hope alls good. Thought I may lay my two bobs worth in! Yes the graphics on the new board may look a little Sieben or what ever, but who really cares. If it looks good...shweet. We all draw our inspiration from somewhere. Is every stencil artist just ripping off Banksy? Is Sieben just ripping off Ed Templeton.Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Any way. Like I said They look sweet and roll nice and have given a younger up and coming artist a bit of direction and focus. Win Win.

Hey Drew,

I dont know if I have met you either, what state are you in? Do you skate on Tue or Wed nights with Charlie?

You are completely allowed to have an opinion but just so you know I dont want any apologies or to put you back in your box. Its not my artist and its not my company, Im just telling the crew that I roll with about some good quality cheap boards that are done by a great local company that would be good to support. If you dont want to support a local small business that is up to you.

But when you say blatantly I think you are still being very harsh! Just because the young artist likes the style of Michael Sieben, the character and the bath tub including the writing was all done by him, I think they look great. I am completely aware of Siebens work with everyone from Bueno, Roger, Thrasher, Creature, Toy Machine, Vox, Volcom, Adidas, just to name a few! I like his style and I cant blame the young artist for liking it as well.

Hope to catch you soon if you are a in Melbourne

I'm based in Geelong and get up to melbs rarely so we probably have not met. I see those graphics as a "blatant" copy of Siebens recent stuff with Roger. You guys don't see it that way. We disagree. We move on.

Drew you should just buy one then if you like Siebens work and support the local skate community I will happily drop one off to you or come out for a skate one Tue or Wed and have a look at one, come and say hi.

As you can see we have not said they dont look alike, they both look good!

Its not often you get a good Canadian Maple deck that looks as good for that price!!!

My name is Sky and I would love to meet you and have a skate one day

PS I like what you say AshK Who really cares support the local skate community instead of sending your money overseas Very Happy
